… and beachy, barrel-curled hair. My stylist recommended I stop fighting my natural waves and instead try one of those new barrel curling irons. Totally copied Shana’s technique on Ain’t No Mom Jeans. I couldn’t have said it better myself, from her blog: “Despite my propensity to snort whenever a curling iron is mentioned, I have managed to master come up with some moderately beachy waves. And it only cost me two different curling irons (OMG!!) and 8 burns. So, you know. TOTALLY WORTH IT.” I was also inspired to do a home “lob” haircut almost immediately after having my hair professionally cut. Read XO Jane’s Do This Don’t: Get Drunk and Hack off Your Hair for the reasons why – mine were almost identical. (Hysterical must-read.)
