What a winter! From a frozen Chesapeake Bay …
… to myriad school cancellations and cabin fever …
… to our first sledding adventures …
… to warm winter bundles (no, that baby’s not mine!) …
… it’s been quite a season. Call us crazy, but thanks to a little help from my Mom, we were even able to spend some time out West powderchasing, in search of MORE snow!
In other winter news, on February 16, 2014 I unknowingly celebrated my Bloggaversary – I’ve been blogging at The Eastern Bay for three years! My very first post, on 2/16/11, was about birdwatching. A short little blurb, not quite poetic, but I think it captured something of the wonder I felt as a recent transplant to such a beautiful place.
Over the past three years I’ve found my voice (my post “Living Downstream” remains a favorite), lost it, dabbled in Mommy Blogging (my extended family loves my “Swimming Far Out” post), gone on long hiatuses from blogging, gained a following, lost it, broke all my links (they’re fixed now, at least on this page), and dabbled in Green Blogging.
What remains is a deep love of where I live, an interest in writing and a passion to share what I see with others.
Stay tuned for SPRING on the Bay – one of our favorite times of year! – and a series of short stories I am putting together based on my first year with my daughter, who turned two in November.
I’ll drink to that!
