“I’m giving my four-year-old the benefit of the doubt in believing she just yelled “FOG!” instead of another word. It is very foggy outside today …”
A friend posted this on Facebook over the weekend. I am still laughing!
This was all I was able to capture from our trip across the Bridge on Saturday (no, I wasn’t driving) …
… although the fog due to the incoming warm front lifting off the very cold water had these cool little gaps here and there showing nautical marks and waves. So picturesque!
Today we had a little fender-bender on Route 8 South that slowed down traffic, fog delays for the local schools and early dismissal.
There are so many descriptive words for fog – pea soup obviously comes to mind. Being “in a fog” is an often-used expression.
There’s something magical, mystical about it.
Where I grew up with the sounds of trains rumbling in and out of my little community, blowing train whistles, the sound of barges blowing their foghorns at night has got to be one of the coolest reminders that we live on an island.
